HISTORY OF THE BRAND - Forever Collectibles
In the fall of 1998 Jill Lewis was with her daughter Kathryn watching her son Alex play baseball. Jill traveled each night and on weekends to wherever Alex played. Watching Alex play inspired Jill to create a new teddy bear. Jill wanted to make a little teddy bear that stood on its own the way Alex stood trying to hit a baseball. Jill built her first teddy bear that really stood on its own.
Jill also loves Boston more than any other city. When she found out that the 1999 MLB All Star game was to be played in Boston, she decided to make her idea come to life. Jill’s first bears were introduced at the summer classic.
Inspired by Jill’s little teddy bear, Michael Lewis began to manufacture and sell this one-of-a-kind bear, and Team Beans was born.
Michael grew FC to become one of the most innovative companies in the sports collectibles industry with products for the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL and over 100 NCAA colleges and universities.
